Maggiano’s Little Italy (Las Vegas)

I’ve passed by Maggiano’s so many times, but never dropped by for a meal. You can’t miss seeing it. When you’re driving on the Las Vegas Strip and reach the Fashion Show Mall, there it is on the north corner, its name big as life.
Maggiano’s is a much classier dining experience than say, the Olive Garden, or even Romano’s Macaroni Grill. It just feels more righteous to eat there.
To get my digestive juices lined up and ready for the good stuff, I started with soup and salad:
First, they brought me a cup of Tuscan Sausage and Orzo Soup. Very good, nice and hot, a wonderful tomatoey flavor that wasn’t too overpowering. I do believe that if I wanted a light lunch, I could do very well with nothing but a bowl of their soup and some of the crusty munch bread that they brought me.
The Maggiano’s Salad was a simple salad with a tangy vinaigrette, finely shredded lettuce and red onions sprinkled with lots of crunchy little bits of prosciutto and crumbled bleu cheese. I’m not a big fan of bleu cheese but when combined with their vinaigrette, the flavor was changed and a great treat to the palate.
For my entrée, I wanted something pasta, and something rich. I also wanted some seafood. They had the perfect offering: Crab & Shrimp Cannelloni. If it sounds creamy and buttery, well, it was.

The plate was swimming with sinfully yummy shellfish wrapped up in cannelloni, little red bits of roasted red peppers peeking through the Asiago cream sauce, all sprinkled with seasoned breadcrumbs. Did I say it was rich?
Y’know, it’s not very often that I don’t order dessert. Actually, I could have slapped my head for not trying their tiramisu. So I made a vow to get back there soon, sit in their outside dining area and have tiramisu and coffee one afternoon.
Wanna join me? Just let me know.
